The Dengue Prevention and Control Progam
Dengue is a debilitating disease that is caused by a mosquito borne viral infection and happens mostly in tropical and subtropical areas. Although this disease causes lethal complications and is now increasing its burden globally it is also a highly preventable disease. Thus, campaigns and programs are done worldwide. The department of health Philippines launched a dengue and prevention control program.
Dengue cases are rampant in the country and happens within any municipality. Dumingag municipality is a neighboring Municipality of Mahayag Zamboanga Del Sur in which roughly 80 cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever was found from the month of April to June 2014. According to the Medical Director of Mahayag Municipal Hospital he also publicized that there is a probability that Barangay San Vicente in where it is nearest to Dumingag will have Dengue Cases as well. Dengue Patrol Program depicts the Dengue campaign program of the DOH Philippines.
Goal: Dengue-free San Vicente.
General Objective:To decrease the susceptibility of Dengue disease in San Vicente from 37% to 5%
Specific Objectives:

To gather baseline data on dengue cases

To Coordinate with concerned health agencies regarding dengue promotion

To promote dengue awareness among residents in the community

To strengthen dengue awareness program in the area and promote clean environment and break the source of transmission of dengue

To determine and monitor dengue susceptibility of the barangay
