Dengue is a debilitating disease that is caused by a mosquito borne viral infection and happens mostly in tropical and subtropical areas. Although this disease causes lethal complications and is now increasing its burden globally it is also a highly preventable disease. Thus, campaigns and programs are done worldwide. The department of health Philippines launched a dengue and prevention control program.

Dengue cases are rampant in the country and happens within any municipality. Dumingag municipality is a neighboring Municipality of Mahayag Zamboanga Del Sur in which roughly 80 cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever was found from the month of April to June 2014. According to the Medical Director of Mahayag Municipal Hospital he also publicized that there is a probability that Barangay San Vicente in where it is nearest to Dumingag will have Dengue Cases as well.
